The Recycling of Ships Act had come into force with His Excellency, President of India, Mr. Ram Nath Kovind, giving assent to the law which provided for enhanced safe and environmentally sound recycling of ships.
Accordingly, India has acceded to Hong Kong International Convention for Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships, 2009.
